For the crew of the 26.60-meter yacht Way of Life, helmed by owner Gašper Vinčec, the Maxi World Cup is its first appearance with the new yacht. It competes in the elite class of fastest yachts (“Maxi Racer”), along with some of the best and most technologically advanced yachts in the world, such as Rambler, Leopard and Highland Fling XI.

The first day of sailing was characterized by changing conditions, from dead calm to strong winds, in which Way of Life exceeded 23 knots. Gašper Vinčec is happy with the first day’s performance and is eagerly awaiting the days to come: “We broke the ice, which is the most important at the moment, not without any problem – I have to stress this out. I knew it wasn’t going to be easy, but despite the complexity and the slight difficulty of raising the front sail, we enjoyed sailing. We have learned a lot from our debut and we look forward to tomorrow’s race.”
